Charity Christmas Shopping Evening – 9th November 2018

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible – Audrey Hepburn
Good Evening,
Welcome to my first blog post on this website. I am going to try and at least keep you updated with one post a month. This is so I can keep you informed as to what I am getting up to including the developments of my business/venture.
On Friday 9th November 2018, I had the absolute pleasure of having my own stall space along with 20 other independent businesses at The Carlton Club House in Olney, Buckinghamshire, for a Charity Christmas Shopping Evening. Which was organised by the lovely Nicki Simmons this year will be the third year running. The event took place from 7:30pm – 10:30pm in the evening, which was in aid of a two great causes. These being, MNDA (Motor Neuron Disease Association) and Target Ovarian Cancer. All the proceeds of the raffle, stand rental, and other contributions were split between these two charities where overall we raised a whopping £1,503!!! Which is absolutely amazing I have to say… 🙂
It was an fantastic evening, that was enjoyed by all involved. I would like to say thank you to Nikki for giving me a chance to promote my business and for the customers who purchased from me and are fond of my stock/designs. It really means a lot to me, I was extremely nervous beforehand, as its taken me weeks and months of preparations, most of you know now that I spend most of my evenings after work at my workbench creating. I know I still have a long way to go but I am so glad this was my first stall and hopefully the start of many more to come.
Many thanks for reading!

Poppy Earrings in aid of Royal British Legion

Lest we forget…
Good evening everyone,
It’s been a while since I wrote a blog post, therefore I would like to apologise for lack of updates on this page. I have been super busy with making Christmas commissions for customers, helping teach at my jewellery making workshops with my wonderful tutor Beccy, prepping for January 19′ sale, creating the Spring 19′ collection which will be launched early February and obviously having a life in between all of that.
Some of you might of been aware that I set out to raise some pennies for The Royal British Legion where throughout the whole of November 2018, I sold Poppy earrings in remembrance of all the lives who fought for our country and sadly never returned to their loved ones.
They were sold at the price of £6.99 and 20% of the profits went to this chosen charity. A massive thank you to everyone who donated and bought a pair of the Poppy Earrings from Pecia Designs, your donation was very much appreciated. A letter and check with the total was posted to The Royal British Legion and I am proud to announce I raised £46.63 overall that’s including all the PayPal payments, cash payments & my customers at Afterglow in Olney. Every little makes a big difference, so thank you everyone 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!

I have been mega busy working full time, as well as getting all your commissions completed, playing around with new designs for Pecia Designs SS19′ launch. So please keep your eyes peeled across all my socials and in Afterglow, Olney.
As some of you are aware I have been passionate about fashion/design from as long as I can remember – I used to draw mannequins, design clothes, and have a real passion for shop visual merchandising. I dreamt one day that I would feature in a fashion page in a magazine. This might not be a big deal for some people… But for me it’s a massive big deal.
Here we are Pecia Designs ‘Leather Leaf’ Earrings are featured in this months Phonebox Magazine – Olney on the Summer Fashion Page (Page 49) No. 14 – along with 21 other brands, some being local one off boutiques, handmade products & some high end brands including Joules Clothing, Lily T, Woosters & Noa Noa!

Summer Fayres, Resin designs & Camp America 2020 Application
Good morning everyone,
I am sorry its been a little while since I have written a blog post, I have had a busy few months, attending Summer fayres, keeping on top of all your commissions, attending a 10 week silver-smithing course at Yardley Arts in Yardley Hastings – Northampton and sorting out my application for Camp America 2020.
Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has supported, and bought from me the past year and half. It’s been a massive world wind and I am ever so overwhelmed with all your lovely feedback on my handmade products.
I am absolutely fond of incorporating resin into my designs. I am also thrilled to pieces that my customers are enjoying this method of creating something completely bespoke as no two piece really is the same, I find that mixing the colours is really therapeutic too. I feel like I have improved and learnt a lot in the past year and that’s something I wouldn’t have been able to do without all my customers responses. It means a lot to me! 😀
I have had a couple of Summer Fayre’s one being at Denton Primary School in Northampton & the other at Olney Infant Academy. Both days were absolutely brilliant turn out and a fantastic foot fall of people. The weather was great, and it was lovely to be in a community spirited environment selling all my one off goods. I love the fact the children of both fayre’s were fully absorbed into what I had made and hopefully I have inspired a few people along the way with my I CAN attitude of doing something I ADORE and passionate about.
As some people are aware I have also been applying to Camp America 2020. Therefore as of May 2020 I’ll hopefully be in America for 3 months helping teach children ages 7-12 years my skill set in Jewellery Making/Arts Crafts. Something I feel extremely strongly about – inspiring children at a young age, give them the freedom to be whoever they intend to be and to be able to see them grow, achieve things that they thought was never possible. I cannot wait to make a difference to their mindset & their attitude to life. I hope to come back with more knowledge about myself, patience, teaching methods, interaction and taking myself out of my comfort zone to see how a different culture lives and how I look at life too.
Where will this take me with my business… Who knows….
‘Design with Pecia’ – Kids Jewellery Making parties – could be on the cards?!?
Stay tuned everyone! 🙂

‘Children In Need’ – Pudsey Disco Ball Hoop Earrings

Good evening.
It’s been a little while since I have had a chance to sit down and write a blog post. Therefore I thought tonight is the perfect opportunity to, I have poured myself a hot chocolate, put my feet up and its been a jolly good Sunday I must say.
As you all know Pecia Designs decided this year to raise some pennies for BBC ‘Children In Need’ throughout the whole of October 2019 until the official appeal day Friday 15th November 2019. It is an absolute amazing charity that helps thousands of children daily as well helping build projects for disadvantaged children, not only does it help the children it helps their families too in times of test so it really is a worthy cause.
The ‘Pudsey’ Disco Ball Hoop earrings were displayed in the Olney Pancake Parlour and the general public were able to purchase them there, they were £6 and 20% of the proceeds went to this chosen charity.
I am proud to announce that Pecia Designs raised a whopping £50 all together…This really will make a difference, a MASSIVE thank you from the bottom of my heart! It means a lot. I will be getting a cheque written out and sent off to the official BBC where they will kindly donate it.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Lots of love

‘Get your ears!’
‘COVID-19 Pandemic – Charity Funriasing‘

Good evening everyone,
It’s been a little while since I have actually sat down to write a blog post. Therefore I thought tonight was the right time. Where has the passed 6 months gone I hear you say, its been absolutely crazy to say the least – who would have thought that we were going to face a global pandemic at the beginning of 2020? I certainly never. Lots of us have had to put our lives on hold due to this terrible disease (including myself, I am not going to America now until 2021 which I was absolutely gutted about!) and a lot of us haven’t been fortunate enough to be furloughed by the companies they work for, a lot of small and corporate businesses might not have survived this, nearly 460,000 people have died from it. The National Health Care System have been snowed under – even more so than usual. It has been certainly a time for us all to reflect upon that’s for sure and hopefully its helped us learn whats truly important to us all.
When full lock down was announced by the government in March 2020, I went into panic mode like a lot of us. It was the fear of the unknown! It was a very scary time for Pecia Designs, I didn’t know exactly how it was going to pan out for my business. However I have been sooooooo grateful to all my wonderful customers who have kept me busy the passed 14 weeks? (Sitting here trying to work out what day of the week it is and what week we are actually on?) As like many I have lost count!!!
Throughout this global pandemic Pecia Designs has tried to keep the spirits up by creating and making brand new designs for you all to choose from including, sterling silver stacker rings in my new homemade workshop, resin bookmarks which have been extremely popular, seed bead hoops etc.
We were told by the government announcement to ‘Stay at home, save lives and protect the NHS.’ Which therefore encouraged me to do my bit to help the charity NHS Charities Together ‘a charity that helps NHS staff and volunteers caring for covid 19 patients.’
I took it upon myself during this uncertain time to show my gratitude towards the NHS and make some ‘Star Resin Key rings’ in the colour blue and the symbol star is to represent the extreme amount of hard work the NHS and front line staff put in on a daily basis as every single person in the front line is incredible. We would be completely lost without the health care system. In just over a month I raised £200 for this chosen charity. Which is absolute AMAZING!!!! Thank you everyone who donated, it makes me really happy knowing that you dug deep to help me reach my goal in this unprecedented time and I now feel so much happier knowing I have done my bit to help them.
I hope you enjoyed reading and are having a nice evening!

Stay alert, control the virus…

‘Christmas Virtual Market Night, Relocation, Polymer Clay and YouTube Video Feature‘
Hello there everyone,
I hope you’re all holding up okay, during yet another lockdown. I really didn’t expect this pandemic to go on for this long to be honest. I don’t think any of us did really, lets hope things start to get back to ‘normal’ soon for us. Whatever ‘normal’ is. I am ready to hit some bars in the Summer for cocktails and a trip to the seaside wearing Pecia Designs brand NEW Summer collection. Which for now I am keeping under wraps.
But, oh my goodness…I can’t believe the last time I wrote a blog post was May last year, almost 12 months a go, crazy! This time last year I was getting myself prepped to go and get my VISA verified for my trip to America, however it sadly never happened.
However lots of other exciting things have happened during this time, so there is every silver lining.
These include Pecia Designs ‘ Christmas Virtual Market Night’ that I hosted from the comfort of my own home via Facebook Live Stream on Friday 20nd November 2020. It was such a fun night and over 20 people tuned in the two hours it ran on for, most of the people who came along bought from Pecia Designs therefore it made my Christmas more worthwhile as yet again the unessential shops had to shut and I couldn’t attend the craft fairs I had planned. Pecia Designs made some novelty Gingerbread Men Pin Badges for the Christmas Collection and they were a complete sell out from start to finish, I can’t quite believe the response I had on them. Amazing!!!
Shortly after this fair my partner and I found a flat of our own and that meant I had to shut my order book earlier, however it didn’t effect sales as I had the busiest Christmas to date and I am so grateful for every sale and order. We got the keys to our new pad on 18th December 2020 and without Pecia Designs I would not have been able to afford this. It’s a dream come true having a place on my own with my boyfriend – we have truly made it our own and put our own stamp on it. (I can’t wait to have visitors!!!) We also now share the office space, Will very kindly built me a new desk and workspace and its been put to good use already. I love it and I sometimes have to pinch myself that it’s mine, and that I can’t keep buying craft supplies now considering I have bills to pay for! Hehe! Also, top tip – if you’re thinking about moving… DON’T give yourself a week to prepare for it. WE did and I certainly paid the consequences come the New Year.
Pecia Designs has launched all of the Spring 21′ collection in Afterglow and all the new products are made with Polymer Clay – I have never used Clay in my designs before therefore this was completely different to Pecia Designs resin pieces. I really enjoy mixing all my ideas and mediums up as it keeps my mind fresh. I also have realised that Polymer Clay goes a long way, and you can do a lot with it. You can purchase any of the NEW products on the website whilst the shop is shut.
Afterglow website – Pecia Designs (afterglow-originals.com).
You can also use the click & collect service on Fridays 10:30am-12pm. The shop is hoping to re-open 12th April 2021! (LETS HAVE OUR FINGERS CROSSED IT HAPPENS!!!) As I have some more fresh NEW designs for you all to choose from for Summer 21′ – think Wham’ – Club Tropicana !!! That’s all I am saying… EEEEPPP! I really excited to launch this collection can you tell?!
Lastly I was approached by my lovely friend Shannon Taylor who has recently started Vlogging on her YouTube channel (35) Shannon Taylor – YouTube She has bought a fair amount from Pecia Designs in past and lots of other small businesses therefore she thought of a great idea to promote us on her channel and Pecia Designs was kindly featured explaining about the products she has bought! I’ve put a link to the YouTube video! Please go and give her channel a ‘like’ and ‘subscribe’ and give this video a watch! Because as always we have to support the small businesses not only now, always .

I am aware this blog post is very long, and hope you enjoyed my ramblings. I don’t think I am going to leave it as long next time as this has been a brain workout trying to remember what’s happened in my life recently, aha – because quite frankly its been a whole big roller-coaster. Thank you everyone who has kept me going with your orders, I can’t thank you enough.
I am off to enjoy a glass of wine and homemade Special Fried Rice! Happy Friday everyone!
Stay safe Kels x
